JAGUAR MK 7 , 8, 9, 10 & 420G ROAD TEST PORTFOLIO

In the twenty years between 1950 and 1970, Jaguar produced no fewer than six different big saloon models, all of them powered by the legendary Xk twincam sixcylinder engine. The first design covered the 1950s and began wwith the Mk Vii, a Mk Viii in 1956 and then a Mk Ix in 1958. The second design covered the 1960s, beginning with the Mk X in 1961, which in turn became a 420G in 1966. Running parallel with these big saloons after 1955 were the smaller sports saloons, the Mk I, Mk 2, S type and 420 models. The story of these cars is traced through 51 articles which include model introductions, driving impressions, road, comparison and long term tests plus performance data.

ROLLS ROYCE 20HP, 20/25, 25/30 & WRAITH IN DETAIL 1922-39

In 1922 Rolls-Royce introduced their new 20hp model, known as the Twenty, the first in a family of what are now called the “Small Horsepower” cars. The plan was to offer a more manageable, less expensive model than the mighty 7-litre Silver Ghost, one intended for the owner-driver rather than for the chauffeur, yet with all the quality and refinement of the bigger cars. The Twenty and its succeeding models was a success. All these models enjoy a very strong following today. More than 10,000 were made, and many survive today. These cars had an astounding range of coachwork types and styles by practically every coachbuilder in Britain along with many in Europe, the United States and elsewhere, many examples are illustrated in this book. After outlining the development of Rolls-Royce’s project for a smaller car, the author provided a detailed technical description of the Twenty,. For owners, present and prospective, there are chapters on using the cars today and on the practicalities of ownership, including advice on parts availability, maintenance and preservation.. It is illustrated with some 70 color and 150 black-and-white photographs.

JAGUAR XK8 XKR PERFORMANCE PORTFOLIO 1996-2005

JAGUAR XK8 XKR PERFORMANCE PORTFOLIO 1996-2005

Jaguar's E-type was so good that designing and developing a successor was always going to be difficult. The XK8, released in 1996, brought renewed credibility to Jaguar Cars. It looked like a Jaguar should – sleek, low with sensuous carves in all the right places. Three years later Jaguar announced the XKR, a supercharged and honed-and-tightened version of the XK8. Various special XKs were built during its long production life and it had a ‘sister' car in the lovely Aston Martin DB7 that took features from both it and the XJ-S. The XK8 remained in production until 2005 when it was replaced by the next generation that borrowed heavily from it.
